Thornton’s are looking to recruit a Senior Category Manager who will be responsible for delivering category growth through detailed knowledge of market trends and competitor strategies.

About us

The commercial team are growing and this is a really exciting time to join them! In order to support this channel’s growth in the future a number of roles across the team have been created including several in the Customer Marketing team.

About the role

You will be the voice of the shopper in the commercial team, responsible for driving actionable insight from shopper research and market data. You will be working closely with Grocery Customers, Trade Marketing and Senior Business Managers to deliver category initiatives, range reviews, and joint business plans for mutual benefit of both parties and to push the business forward. The Senior Category Manager will report directly to the Category Controller.

About you

So, what sort of person are we looking for?. Key to the role is a real interest and passion for shopper insight. You will ideally be of graduate calibre and it is essential you have a strong background in category management. You will need to possess excellent numeracy and analytical skills and have experience of managing direct reports. Experience of working in an FMCG environment would be beneficial and you will also have solid project management, communication and excellent presentation skills. The position is office based when you’re not out visiting our customers.
