The Co-operative Food business is changing – and it’s changing fast. We’re developing a customer engagement strategy that will give us a real competitive edge and support food stores in every postal area across the UK. It’s a huge challenge, with immense scope. For a driven and talented Sales Development Manager it’s also a real opportunity to make your mark as you help shape the future commercial success of the country’s leading community food retailer.

Having a key input into promoted product lines and supporting our stores from a strategic perspective, you’ll analyse ways of working and make sure our stores and regional teams are engaged to drive sales ambition in store. You’ll do this by working in collaboration with our Head Office and regional teams to ensure operational requirements are considered and communications channels to stores are maximised. In doing this, our store colleagues will be engaged and inspired to expertly promote offers in store, and our customers will get exceptional service, the very best value for money deals and importantly, keep coming back for more.

You’ll also focus on Post Offices within our Food Stores, rewriting the operating model and setting a commercially viable sales strategy, moving forward. The Co-operative Food Home Delivery Service will fall under your wide remit too, as you look at the operating model, analyse its effectiveness and decide if, when and where strategic investment should be made in the future.

Sharing your love of people and passion for products, this role really is yours to own. You’ll need plenty of gravitas, together with the senior level strategic experience and vision to recommend critical improvements to how we work and engage across the wider Co-operative Food business. Understanding business wide functions, you’ll also work with every Head Office Food team, including Buyers, Logistics and Store Directors and be familiar with driving change and business development across a large-scale, complex retail operation.

We’re proud to be ranked as a top ethical supermarket supporting over 200 Fairtrade lines. We also have over 3,000 food stores and supermarkets around the UK, employ over 75,000 colleagues and are growing at pace. Join us as we begin the next chapter of our evolution and help shape our success and your own.
