Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)
Senior Chain of Custody Manager – London, UK
£45,000 - £50,000 dependent upon experience

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is a ground breaking non-profit organisation dedicated to safeguarding the world’s seafood supply by awarding a blue ecolabel, on over 14,000 products from sustainable fisheries.

Reporting to the Director of Standards, the Senior Supply Chain Manager has a key organisational responsibility for the development and credibility of the MSC’s Chain of Custody (CoC) program, including the implementation and evaluation of supply-chain related policies and procedures.

The Senior Supply Chain Manager will provide strategic direction to the CoC program and lead the Product Integrity Team (currently 4 permanent staff) in implementing various policy development projects, ensuring the on-going quality and consistency of MSC CoC assessments and overall credibility of the CoC program.

The post holder will have a strong understanding of risks associated with different elements of food service or seafood supply chains (and ideally ecolabelling programs), and will have experience balancing these risks with the need for simple and accessible supply chain solutions. The post-holder will also ensure that external audiences and MSC governing bodies are aware of the need for traceability and integrity within the supply chain, and other supply chain requirements for the MSC program. Strong commercial, technical and management skills, combined with significant experience in supply chain management and tracking are essential, and the ideal post holder will be experienced in, and committed to, excellence in people management.
