As our Head of Commercial Trading , you'll drive transformational change by leading The Co-operative Food Business to become 'One Business' working collaboratively to introduce a new single operating model across Food Retail Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain Distribution and Farms. This is a business critical, high profile role, leading our Commercial agenda shaping our strategic vision, growth and profitability to provide the best possible service to our Customers. Directing product range strategies, you'll ensure they're appropriate to relevant store formats, are customer led and cover all aspects of product selection, price hierarchy, promotions, supplier selection and collaboration. You'll also develop a commercial sales strategy for each category, addressing all space, capital expenditure, media spend and supply chain requirements.

Inspiring our people by role modeling a step change in Food trading performance, you'll champion putting our Customers at the heart of every commercial decision. You'll have a proven track record in a trading environment, extensive experience in a Food Retail role and be skilled in leading and developing a large multifunctional senior level team to achieve success. With the confidence and credibility to consistently influence at Board level, you'll expertly negotiate with large key suppliers, complex accounts and have experience of managing a budget of around c£1billion. Adept at delivering core business strategies, you'll of course, be aware of legal compliance and procedures too.
