Arla Foods offers an array of challenging jobs and career possibilities within a number of fields and the chance to work with talented and dedicated colleagues.
Making a difference
Employees at every level are empowered to lead, sense and create the character of the company. Arla UK’s business group director–human resources explains: “We actively encourage all our colleagues to take the lead, and strive for leadership and high potential in all their work. Alongside this, they are also encouraged to take a sensing approach, listening to consumers and customers to discover new opportunities and to be creative in building competencies, products and relationships.”
Joining Arla also means helping the environment by getting Closer to Nature, as the company has made a commitment to become the world’s most natural dairy company.
The business group HR director adds: “We ensure every action we take is done with nature, and therefore the environment, in mind. We care about how we produce our products and seek to ensure we make them in the most natural way.
“We want to encourage everyone, from farmers to consumers, to increase their appreciation for the natural world and take greater responsibility for their part in protecting the environment.”
Get on board
Vacancies can be found on the Arla Foods website and job boards including FoodmanJobs, Total Jobs, Monster, Reed and Your Food Jobs. The company also use specialist job boards and press to attract those with specific expertise and have profiles on social networking sites, such as Linkedin.
The number of applicants that apply to each vacancy varies greatly and depends on the type, scope and level of the role. As you would expect, there are fewer applicants as complexity and salary increases. However, some more entry level roles can attract up to 300 applications.
The business group HR director concludes the CVs that stand out are the ones that have been clearly targeted towards the role to which they relate rather than just a generic template. Those that are short, concise and well written both in grammar and presentation style also tend to jump out more.
