Big demand for CATMAN skills

In 2006 Nyman Whitfield identified the need to support a growing demand for category management skills within the fmcg market.

Research highlighted how individuals were often unsure if they were part of commercial or marketing, and so how to develop their skills. This lack of identity and isolation created ambiguity of how individuals progress their careers, and uncertainty for organi-sations to grow their teams.
MD Paul Nyman adds: "Over the last six years our category team has deliv-ered recruitment solutions in a market that has grown by over 120% through understanding the difference between category, trade, shopper and customer marketing"

""We appreciate that when recruiting, clients can feel left out at sea. Guidance in the development of your category function is pivotal to meeting business needs in today's market.
"This experience has also enabled many individuals develop their careers through our insight and understanding of the market."

WHERE NEXT?

These route maps, including career advice have proven more important than just moving between organisations, result-ing in greater time served within one employer.
"Our purpose at creation was, and still is simple... to create an industry recognised point of call for career and recruitment advice within category man-agement and its related disciplines.
"Over the last decade we have achieved this through the application of long term category principles. engaging in envi-sioned mutually beneficial partnerships. Advising what you need to know rather than what you want to hear."
