MAKING THE MOST OF MAKRO

The response was great, and we have had great successes. We now want to recruit more customer consultants nationwide.”
EVERY DAY IS DIFFERENT
Makro consultants plan their own diary to maximise customer visits, and support the needs of the customer. Every day is varied, from visiting cafes, mobile caterers, pubs, clubs, hotels etc potentially right through to Michelin Star Restaurants, supporting specialist HoReCa (Hotel-Restaurant-Catering) events in store, trade shows and exhibitions, accompanied shops etc. The core roles in Makro include:
● Servicing the needs and requirements of customers, helping them maximize the opportunities and profit for their business
● Keeping in constant (daily/weekly) telephone communication as well as monthly visits with all Makro customers to make them aware of offers coming up, new product development, industry developments, including HACCP, COSHH legislation etc
● Identify opportunities to grow and develop sales by 1-2-1 contact with customers, offering help and advice
● Analyse customer information to identify gaps in spend and maximise spend and profit potential for Makro through promotion of products
● Gather information from customers to provide feedback for offer management and customer marketing department to help improve the offer to our customers
● Provide ideas and suggestions to help support, develop and improve the way Makro does business
● Liaise with the store, customer manager, head office, other colleagues to constantly keep on top of all the latest activities and best practice.
Makro resourcing specialist Kelly Peden says: “We’re looking for self starters who are able to work on their own initiative. Enthusiastic, motivated individuals who are good communicators. We are very results driven but you must also provide great customer service. Industry experience is preferred either from a foodservice sales background or having been a Publican/Hotelier/Restaurateur.”
