The Company

One of the country’s leading Sports Apparel brands has developed an entirely new opportunity for a Sales & Marketing executive to help further advance their UK apparel and hardware business. This is a great prospect to join a young brand that consistently experiences year on year growth; it is also internationally recognised brand with top athletes, including Olympic Champions, using their products. The company currently has 160 employees, and they are now looking for an individual to join them and play a key role in taking the business closer to their goal of being the market leader within their category by helping attain sales and marketing goals.

The Role

This Sales & Marketing Executive role itself is multifaceted with a range of responsibilities. This includes educating customers and the sales team on the product category and technology, as well as training them in best practice to merchandise and sell the products within stores. In addition, you will be involved in product promotional strategies across a number of avenues including exhibitions, grass roots, and dealer and consumer events. You will need to work at a strategic level, developing and leading sales and marketing programs across a variety of distribution channels including e-commerce to maximize turnover. There will also be elements of product line management in terms of selecting new styles for collections and coordinating new season collections, as well as handling and developing sponsorships, partnerships and community activities. You will report into the Commercial General Manager but work with a number of departments within the business to help attain sales and marketing goals. However, the role will have a degree of autonomy as they are looking for an individual to input their own ideas and positively influence the business. Although office based, this position will see the successful candidate travel throughout the UK to both customers and relevant trade shows.

The Candidate

My client is looking for a proactive individual who has a passion for sport that is matched by their understanding of the products. To be considered for this role you must be an enthusiastic and dynamic individual and is ideally degree educated with proficient IT and communication skills. As for product background, strong experience within sporting apparel is preferred but my client is open to similar markets such as fashion or lifestyle products.
