The Role

This is an exciting and challenging role in a newly established Marketing team where you will be given the chance to really get to grips with how a leading food manufacturing company operates. You’ll be responsible for the day to day category management of a range of delicious food products for major retail accounts, applying your commercial insight to provide world class marketing standards and strategically develop new business opportunities. With your flair for spotting the latest food and consumer trends you’ll anticipate the direction of the category, working closely with internal and external customers to understand their objectives and form strong, proactive relationships for the delivery of ambitious business plans. You’ll also be tracking P&L and analysing sales data, keeping a close commercial eye on industry movements whilst translating key insights into effective sales and marketing campaigns. As the champion for customer and category needs, you’ll propose and present recommendations for range development and promotions that will influence the direction of the category, ensuring the business continues to grow and retain its enviable position at the forefront of the market.

The Person

Suit an enthusiastic foodie of graduate calibre who has gained invaluable experience in a similar Category Management role within the food manufacturing industry. Great project management, negotiation and influencing abilities combined with superb interpersonal skills are crucial for achieving success in this role. It is essential that you have an aptitude for finance and numbers where you are able to resolve any issues that may arise. You’ll also be able to think on your feet and deliver persuasive presentations with confidence and clarity in order to communicate your ideas effectively and win new business. Experience of working with the major retailers would also be highly desirable along with an understanding of the category sector where you can utilise insights and translate them into commercial propositions.
