We have a rare and exciting job opportunity for a commercially aware QA expert to lead the team with this unique and hugely successful business who pride themselves on their belief in developing colleagues to reach their full potential. With a profile that encompasses a broad knowledge of end-to-end QA and Technical management including strategy, buying, design, production and logistics, the job holder will be required to manage the provision of quality products and processes by developing and maintaining standards, without compromising on value or product availability.

Key Responsibilities will include:
*Planning, managing, developing and implementing the quality management strategy in line with budgets and to agreed time-scales
*Develop and maintain systems, processes and procedures to create guidelines for own label products to meet government and corporate legislation
*To drive the QA and Technical agenda within the company and take a lead role in the strategic plan and objectives in conjunction with Buyers, Supply Chain and Marketing as well monitoring the performance of products in line with agreed standards, taking the appropriate action when issues arise
*Working closely with suppliers to ensure they comply with standards, being the facilitator to communicate changes in legislation to both internal and external stakeholders as well as managing the customer complaints procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience
*Proven track record in a QA / Technical environment, preferably retail.
* Experience across a wide range of products including fresh and ambient food and non food products, including legislation around safety and compliance
* Thorough understanding of the principles of HACCP through both hands on experience and qualifications
*Sound knowledge of manufacturing principles and auditing processes and how they impact upon retail
*Proven experience in managing, motivating and leading a QA / Technical team
