Salary - £ 40,000 plus Bonus

Apley Farm Shop is a big success story – open by owners Lord & Lady Hamilton in March 2011 the business now encompasses the Farm Shop (butcher, delicatessen, greengrocer & food hall), the Creamery Café, Pigg’s Playbarn & tenanted businesses including an Animal Park & three retail outlets.  It has grown quickly to become one of the best farm shops in the country. Earlier this year it was listed by BBC Good Food magazine as one of the ten best in the UK.  Situated in the heart of the beautiful Apley Estate in Shropshire in carefully restored and converted Victorian farm buildings, Apley Farm Shop has the potential to continue its strong growth and development as we get our message that locally produced food tastes better out to more & more people.

The business reflects the drive and ambition of Lord & Lady Hamilton and the commitment of our team both at Apley Farm Shop and elsewhere on Apley Estate.

Following the departure of our General Manager who has been headhunted by one of our key producers we are looking for a new General Manager to take the business forward to the next level

 

You’ll be running the business on a day to day basis reporting directly to a board chaired by Lord Hamilton who retains a very strong involvement in the business..

We are looking for someone with drive, enthusiasm, skills and ambition together with lots of new and exciting ideas to develop the business. You will be able to demonstrate experience in the following key competencies.

The salary package is £40,000 per annum plus bonus if KPI targets are achieved, 25 days paid holiday and a contributory pension scheme. If you need to move to take up the position we may be able to provide subsidised accommodation.
