An exciting opportunity has arisen within a large FMCG business supplying the major retailers. We are currently looking for an experienced buyer who is interested in procuring globally and building strong long term relationships with suppliers. This is a fast paced business where no one day is the same with challenges around every corner, but with a strong believe in its people it has become a strong player in its sector.

You will be tasked with creating a procurement plan in conjunction with the category manager and then delivering it achieving the KPI targets set on quality, availability and price, whilst maintaining customer service levels and expectations. Essentially you will need to work closely with internal colleagues, the retailer and suppliers to improve the supply chain and drive forward the category.

Previous experience in a similar procurement role within a fresh produce, food or horticulture business is necessary and having the ability to deal with high pressured environments and seasonal demands is required. It would be desirable although not essential to have experience working with international growers. This role will be suitable for a driven person who has can work closely with a team.
