Job Details




Our client is a leading light in food innovation and food quality within the retail sector. They are looking for a Food Buyer who is passionate about food products and has an eye for capturing sales opportunities. Responsible for leading the category buying team, the ideal candidate's remit will include:
  • Driving sales and market share whilst delivering profit through strategic buying
  • Creating the best offer for customers through focussed ranges and promotions by delivering the category plan
  • Preparing and agreeing with the Head of Trading the buying and ranging strategies for the area
  • Setting and delivering a strategic supply and procurement plan for the Food Business Unit
  • Planning and negotiating market leading promotions
  • You will have a good knowledge of food procurement and ideally experience within the hospitality industry. By using your strong strategic and analytical skills, you can identify opportunities to improve profitability and reduce costs. As an influencer, you will use your negotiations skills to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and lead and manage the supplier base.


The career progression within this role will suit an ambitious individual who can visualise leading the Food team as a Trading Manager and potentially as Head of Trading in the future.
