The company:

My client is a market leader in the Food Ingredients market, specialising in Savoury Ingredients selling to the B2B sector. They have grown in size by approximately 18% over the past 3 years, with a corresponding increase in profit of over 37%.

They have locations across the UK and a reputation for innovation, quality and dedicated customer service. They are currently looking for a technical sales manager to come in to support the sales function.

The role:

Reporting into the Sales Director you will look to have responsibility for key accounts as well as new business generation. You will visit key clients and work with both the client and internal technical teams to maximise sales. You will work with a small number of key accounts, selling dry, savoury ingredients. You will be selling into food manufacturing and need to have a good understanding of the sector, the practices and the key requirements for selling food ingredients.

The person:

The right person for this role will have a strong technical background within the food ingredients sector. Experience with the following would be a distinct advantage:

- Blends, Rubs, Marinades

- Snacks applications

- Meat and Fish applications.

You will be based in the office meeting with internal teams approximately 1 day a week so it would be a requirement to be based in the North of the UK. You will need a strong determination for sales, maximising margins and driving top and bottom line growth.

You will have worked with UK Food Manufacturers in a sales or technical capacity and understand the pressures and cost initiatives as well as quality and safety requirements.
