One of the UK’s most successful manufacturers of premium chilled food products have created a new opportunity for a Head of Insight to help further develop business within Waitrose. There impressive product portfolio includes both branded and own label chilled packed and deli counter products. The business operates and manufacturers from a number of sites across the UK turning over in excess of £400m. Over the last decade the business has grown from strength to strength and as a result has become sole supplier to a number of retailers. Following on from this growth my client has now created an opening within the business for an ambitious individual to join their team and aid their future success.

Reporting to the Commercial Director you will be responsible for leading Waitrose through the understanding of shopper behaviour through customer and market insight. You will work alongside the NPD and commercial team to define the category and the strategies moving forward. You will be responsible for shaping and implementing specific growth plans for both the dotcom and convenience channels. Using space planning and packaging analysis you will develop planograms, fixtures and packaging, and work with the aforementioned team to deliver new products launches successfully. Where joint growth plans are achieved you will maximise this profit and invest this back into the effective deployment of research and on-going data. You will also deliver all category reviews and present these to both internal and external stakeholders.

In order to be considered for this opportunity you will currently be working at either category or senior category manager level within a chilled food or blue-chip FMCG environment. Education to degree level is preferred however, a minimum of 8 years category experience will be sufficient. You should be a self-starter, able to analysis and convert data with a commercial outcome in mind.
