Job Details

Reporting to the Sales Director, this role plays a pivotal and leading role in the business planning process, working closely with sales, marketing and finance to drive profitable category strategies alongside a brand and category story for each core market. This is a leadership role with responsibility for setting the category vision and delivering the vision through ‘category thought leadership’ both internally and externally with customers.

Development of the brand within the key accounts will be central to the role as will category development and NPD opportunities that will drive brand value. Keeping the customer and shopper at the heart of category plans, you will look to drive best in class category management and agree first class activation strategies with the trade across all our core markets to ensure profitable growth is achieved.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:-

  • Develop an advanced understanding of consumer category shopping behaviour using relevant data and best practises of category management; converting these into a category strategy and tactical plan for our markets.
  • Drive a regular contact strategy with specific key customers in providing category performance reviews, innovative ranging solutions & promotional strategies to ensure Gü are a ‘first choice’ category partner.
  • Ensure category strategy and tactics are regularly presented to key customers (Tesco, JS, Waitrose, Rewe, France tbc) and embedded in shopper centric joint business plans that lead to “category partner” status and exceptional support for the innovation and initiatives.
  • Develop the NPD category launch story for core markets working closely with NPD team.
  • Proactively work with internal Sales, Finance and Marketing teams to develop creative Point of Purchase solutions and initiatives to grow category sales and profitability.
  • Accelerate profitable growth of distribution through proactive range management of development of our core range.
  • Play a lead role in shaping the NPD funnel through market and flavour trends that can transpire into successful product launches.
