Our clients an international food company who have been established for over 50 years are now seeking an ambitious Buyer to report directly to the European Head of Purchasing. You will be an important and influential member of the European purchasing team. The purchasing team has a Lead Buyer within each country who is also responsible for a category. The buyer would have responsibility for the procurement of all products within the UK and to head up the packaging function. Within this role the buyer would adopt Category Management principles in order to develop and deliver a category strategy, focusing on budget delivery, market insight and risk management.

Details Key Responsibilities:
- Support business growth and profitability targets through the development, communication & delivery of category strategy
- Category strategies should identify and plan to reduce the risks in our supply chains at all times.
- The ability to reliably and rationally forecast future Raw Material Prices is a crucial part of this role.
- The candidate will develop a thorough knowledge of production processes for the major raw materials and deliver value savings by understanding the local and global markets in which they are traded
