Trading Manager (Foodservice Wholesaler / Retail)
Location: Wolverhampton, West Midlands

Blakemore Foodservice is the third largest supplier to the UK Foodservice market with a turnover of £160 million per annum, supplying the leisure, travel, education and free trade sectors.

ROLE:
Following significant sales growth they are looking to recruit an experienced Trading Manager to maximise sales opportunities, income and profitability. Key to the success of this role will be the ability to maximise revenue from suppliers through effective negotiations and the development of new initiatives.
Well developed interpersonal skills, the ability to liaise with internal and external customers at all levels, the ability to create and sustain effective working relationships and the drive to succeed in a fast moving and competitive industry are all essential as is the necessity to be a solid team player committed to achieving company objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Maximise revenue from suppliers through effective negotiation and the development of new initiatives.
b) Negotiate a planned programme of promotional activity which is effective, competitive and supplier funded, to achieve targets.
c) Determine pricing policies; to ensure the Foodservice division offer an up to date and appropriate range that reflects consumer market trends.
d) Ensure specific categories are reviewed to an agreed timetable; to gather and research knowledge of products and trends and knowledge of competitor activity.
e) The production, delivery and review of the annual range strategy and plans for agreed categories; interpreting appropriate market research activity, and recommending actions for improvement
f) Creating open and effective relationships with key customers and suppliers. Meeting agreed timescales and deadlines with regard to internal and external trading information and reports.
g) Achieve targeted sales and targeted income.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) High level of numeracy; high level of literacy; intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
b) Excellent industry knowledge, including specific product knowledge, to deliver a targeted offering to customers.
c) Experience of negotiating with suppliers.
DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Demonstrable food retail / wholesale experience.
b) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
c) Educated to A level standard.
d) Knowledge of setting budgets / targets.
