The Job
We are looking for an experienced a Training Manager to manage a Team of 7 Trainers who are all dedicated to our Microsoft account. You will set the direction for & manage the activity/delivery of the training team ensuring that standards are high & that core KPIs are met.
Within Microsoft specified stores and at Microsoft events, the key remit of our Training team is to ensure the Microsoft vision and objectives are achieved namely to:
- increase RSP's knowledge and understanding of a defined portfolio of Microsoft products
- enable a better customer experience and enhance sales
- deliver tailored product training to our field team population
- build excellent relationships with senior clients, RSPs & customers (e.g. Retail Partners such as Dixons Retail & the consumer direct)
- scope, design and deliver training events to clients
- design and tailor delivery training assets internally and to client and customers
- own the Retail Academy
The Training Manager will also:
- lead by example in role modelling Trainer responsibilities (i.e. creating/delivering content as well as being accountable for the team’s output)
- manage the training budget
Team Management:
- Run weekly Conference calls
- Bi weekly 1-2-1’s
- Field visits & accompaniments
- Run monthly meetings
- Manage the Trainer’s weekly planner & distribution of MS projects according to skill/personal development objectives
- Ensure project plans are completed in spec and on time with every project / roadshow
- Support CIPD learning & project delivery
- Manage all team personal development reviews & personal development plans
- Point of contact for all team queries/issues
Team administration:
- Manage logistics of all events e.g. booking venues, checking contracts and ensuring we have the items required in budget
- Managing Trainers budget (e.g. keeping tight control on spend on kit)
- Sign off point for expenses
- Management of Credit Cards
- Complete kit audits – People/warehouse
- Point of contact for all team practical queries/issues e.g. cars etc.
Person Specification:
- A proven Trainer with experience in delivering training content within the Technology industry
- Experience of managing people
- Knowledge of b2b, b2c and breadth accounts (e.g. resellers)
- CIPD qualification is preferred
