SCOPE OF THE ROLE

Leads the development of marketing and trade marketing strategies to deliver a profitable growth plan across all product categories in line with business strategy.

Realises the Foodservice brand strategy by creating demand at the wholesaler, retailer and distributor level, aligning Foodservice sales team on trade marketing initiatives to support them to deliver the foodservice budget.

Responsible for 5 Brands as well as a large own label portfolio.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development of short and long-term marketing strategies to achieve defined business objectives across the entire portfolio as per the commercial annual plan.
  • Thoroughly understand market conditions and market trends to deliver the marketing strategy across all Foodservice customers and end users
  • To create and execute promotional plans, policies and processes that enable delivery of the marketing plans
  • Manage a complex portfolio of brands and own label providing both growth and rationalisation recommendations
  • Increase category performance, through leading innovate thinking with a clear roadmap & timelines to achieve in-market executional excellence
  • Lead annual planning and review process by understanding business objectives and translating them into a roadmap for sales execution
  • Build a gap analysis and work with the Sales team to develop/agree clear, specific plans for corrective action
  • Identify and develop NPD in line with market trends and champion new product market entry and execution
  • Identify potential new customers and market opportunities, devise and recommend strategies for entry.
  • Develop and execute in-store activation including FSDUs, point of purchase material in time and on budget
  • Provide category management and range planning solutions
  • Strengthen and drive marketing communications, promotional and trade spend effectiveness; ROI, strategic investment decisions, efficiency, control and validation of spend
  • Manage marketing agencies to deliver executional excellence with value for money.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Graduate in a business related subject and Marketing qualification (such as CIM) is beneficial
  • Commercial marketing management background, with strong category and portfolio management experience within FMCG and Foodservice
  • A working understanding of the foodservice industry is ideal
  • Proven success in leading marketing initiatives in an autonomous way is essential
  • Previous exposure to a pan European company would be helpful as would previous experience of working within a matrix management organisation
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen and good understanding of customer management process.
  • Vision and ability to see future growth opportunities within the sector
  • Hands on approach, must be able and willing to mix strategic and operational responsibilities effectively.
