Our client needs to build a more focussed approach to their position and role within the categories in which they operate and a key driver of this will be the development and provision of best in class, timely and actionable category and shopper insights, which leverage category knowledge and a wide variety of external and internal data sources.



The Category Manager will be responsible for the co-development, evolution and implementation of the category vision, drivers and strategies pertaining to the UK product portfolio. You will be tasked with developing a deeper understanding of each category, shopper habits, consumer needs and the UK product portfolio in addition to the subsequent delivery of actionable recommendations. This role sits within the UK commercial team and will provide a full Category Management service across all account formats, including digital with the added responsibility for managing all category projects for the UK customer base. This will require very close working relationships with customer contacts in order to develop and leverage relationships.

You must possess both the desire and the ability to really make a difference as there are huge growth opportunities to be capitalised on. Experience of working in a commercial / shopper / category role in FMCG is as important as your extensive experience of data analysis and the ability to convert this into compelling actionable insights and strategies. Advanced levels of competence with proprietary market research, market data and agency provided tools are essential e.g. Kantar, TNS, IRI, Nielsen, GFK, Dunnhumby Shop, LMG, TNS and Retail Link.
