Job Details

This is a rare and interesting opportunity to join one the UK’s leading FMCG businesses as a Division Head of Innovation/NPD. The role reports in the main board and you will take full responsibility for the creation and delivery of the divisional NPD plan to drive growth across the Top 5 and Convenience channels for a £Multi-Billion organisation.

The Role

You will have full autonomy to set and create a five year innovation plan and also to lead and sustain a high performing NPD team who will consistently deliver innovation excellence. You will ultimately represent all levels of NPD at senior level and be responsible with setting the strategic vision.

The Business

The business sets the benchmark on first to market on quality food innovation and has influenced many of the “me to” products you see today. Their products are being pushed out into new areas of store and temperature formats and retailers. There is already a strong branded and own label presence by this organisation but there also exists further space to win the hearts of new customers and new clients.

The Individual

The ability to take a product from concept to launch – managing all touch points effectively along the way is crucial. You will have demonstrable ability in being able to launch new products, refresh old tired products to fit in with consumer trends and lead a team to activate your visions. You will be a hands on innovator with a “big picture” mentality who isn’t afraid to take creative risks. Internally you will work closely with the Directors and Senior NPD team to deliver a mutual vision supporting the wider group initiatives.

This role would suit a current Head of Innovation/ Head of NPD who is looking for a bigger challenge or an NPD focussed Marketing Director who is looking to develop their innovation skills area further. Either way this organisation needs real winners who can really dig their teeth into adding real value to already successful FMCG business.
