MARKETING MANAGER

Simon Howie Foods is a multi-award winning business based in Dunning near Perth, from where we supply the four main multiples and a large number of leading hotels and restaurants; we also have our own superb retail outlets in Perth and Auchterarder.

We have an exciting opportunity for a  Marketing Manager to play a lead role in the business at this exciting stage in our development.

 

JOB PURPOSE:    To manage all elements of the Marketing mix. Develop and implement an effective Brand Strategy (including a Digital Strategy) which increases brand equity, presence, sales and profit.


• Develop, implement and review Brand Strategy

o Play the lead role in developing a Brand Strategy which builds equity, presence, sales and profit. Review progress against agreed strategy every quarter, and take appropriate action
o Monitor the 4P’s on a quarterly basis and agree an action plan to ensure the brand is adhering to the agreed strategy
    

• Lead the NPD Process

oPropose new products which will make a tangible impact on the bottom line , developing an outline business case for specific new projects
o Ensure new products hit the required internal and external milestones
o Develop trade sell-in presentations to support the launch of new products
o Evaluate the success of new products post their launch


• Manage Trade Marketing Strategy and its implementation with relevant customer contacts

o Ensure we have effective display tools which make the brand stand out on shelf
o Develop a programme of brand activation initiatives which engage with consumers and encourage trial and increased sales


•    ATL / Brand Building

o Create a plan for the most effective use of A&P investment 
o Ensure that the creative message(s) is /are kept up to date and applied ‘through the line’

•Digital

o Post regular updates on the website blog
o Update the website using the CMS system, Magneto
o Management of Search Engine Optimisation
o Use of Google Analytics
o Monthly email updates to customer database
o Facebook and Twitter updates
o Work with our web developers to deal with any maintenance / programming issues. 

 

The Person

• A relevant Marketing or equivalent qualification or equivalent

• Significant experience as a Brand or Marketing Manager

• Demonstrable creative skills which have added to the bottom line

• An up to date knowledge of current marketing practices, including Digital Media

• Must understand strategic business planning process

• Sound analytical skills

• Excellent interpersonal / communication and presentation skills

• Knowledge of customer relationship management and marketing related software 

• Appropriate IT skills

• Ability to work to own initiative and to prioritise workload

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to contribute to team objectives

• Ability to work flexibly and respond to change

• Results orientated approach to work

• Ability to keep various tasks running at same time  

- Fresh food industry experience highly beneficial
