Pedigree Wholesale is a market-leading supplier of pet and aquatic products, selling into the UK independent retail sector as well as leading national retail customers. The company is family-owned, with a strong reputation in the marketplace built up over 40 years of successful trading. As one of the most respected businesses and wholesalers in the sector, the company employs over 150 people at their Nottingham Head Office and across 5 depots nationally. With revenues in excess of £40m, they can offer retailers over 10,000 SKUs across the food, accessories, healthcare and aquatic product areas. Providing customers with exceptional service across all areas of the operation is a key commitment of the business. Having recently agreed an exclusive agreement to distribute a super-premium pet food brand, the business is now looking for a Brand Sales Manager to drive this new venture.

Reporting to the Sales Director, this is a great opportunity to have a central role in launching and developing a successful super-premium pet food brand into the UK marketplace. Working closely with the management team, you will have full input into pricing and strategy, and be the key person in building strong and professional relationships with customers who share the brands values with an emphasis on quality rather than quantity. This is a hands-on position that will include running in-store demonstration days, attending exhibitions and presenting internally and externally. The brand will further be supported by a dedicated marketing resource, working closely with you to ensure any promotional activity and in-store POS material accurately reflects the brand’s benefits in a competitive environment. Fundamentally, you will be responsible for developing and executing the business plan for an exciting new brand that has already had phenomenal success internationally. 

Given the nature of the product, it is essential that you have pet food experience and a strong understanding of the nutritional requirements of both dogs and cats. Given that you will be ultimately responsible for running your own business unit, you must be a motivated and organised self-starter with the drive and independence to succeed.
