Job Details

We are a UK multinational with turnover measured in £billions. We have entered a period of exciting growth in terms of both profit and volume. This has resulted in a need to strengthen our senior management team.

Reporting to the Sales Director, your primary responsibility will be to lead our sales organisation, through developing and activating a sales strategy. Through true leadership, capability development and strong sales focus you will develop and maintain our business at a world class level.

You will manage a team of 6 Key Account Managers that will take responsibility for the strategic direction of the regional pharmacy multiple accounts. You will provide training and commercial guidance to your managers and provide overall leadership to the account team.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to national account team to develop and gain agreement for strategies that provide structure and focus for individual accounts.
  • Keep up to date on external market influences, competitor strategy and customer needs to ensure strategies and plans are adjusted accordingly by relevant sales channels.
  • Identify and develop strategies for gaining new business
  • Develop and implement a sales business plan to achieve objectives and targets
  • Ensure systems are in place to monitor performance and achievement of targets/objectives.
  • With the national account team, review processes and procedures to ensure the needs of the business and its customers are met and best practise is shared across the business and group businesses.
  • Conduct complex negotiations with key customer groups in order to gain and maintain contracts.
