This is a new and exciting role with a large multinational packaging organisation which manufacturers packaging products for a number of very big named customers all over the world. This role represents an opportunity for the business to expand further into a relatively new market segment for them building on the success of the UK business which has doubled in size over the last 5 years.

Some Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of the new venture with company strategies and operations
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Nurture and expand existing business relationships to increase lead generation and average job size
  • Take the lead in working with the Technical, Engineering and Operations departments in the development of new trials and marketing new technologies as necessary.
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.

Essential skills/background:

  • Good sales & key account/market management track-record in UK industrial manufacturing sectors
  • Experience of either or all of the following: Fast moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Food Service or Food Packaging
  • Commercial negotiation skills
  • Strong customer relationship development skills both for short and long term business development and growth
  • Good track record in an industrial service delivery field - preferably involved with multiple solutions selling
  • Technical competence and excellent problem solving skills
  • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of progressive sales management experience and a demonstrated record of sales growth
