A senior opportunity has arisen with a well-renowned market leading business in the non-food consumer goods industry.  The company have a proven track record of success and profitability in a very competitive market and have further scope for growth in the near future. The organisation can offer structure and support with in-house design teams, product managers and administration staff all part of the organisation. The business have a diverse range of products and supply a number of key retailers across different channels including grocery, department stores, discounters and other major retail outlets. The company are looking to recruit a General Manager/Sales Manager to support ambitious growth plans for the future and manage a key area of the business.

As the department head reporting directly into the Commercial Director you will undertake a challenging, varied role managing a team of people including National Account Managers, Product Managers and in-house designers whilst seeking growth across a number of designated National accounts. You will liaise with the senior team on key business decisions, oversee existing customer plans and review current market trends. The role will also bring an element of new business in line with the strategic plans of the business. Overall the role encompasses people management, sales expertise, management of key accounts and overall management of a specific business unit within the company.

In order to be considered for this exciting position you must have previous experience of managing a team and strong leadership skills. Ideally you will have worked in fast-moving non-food consumer goods arena such as giftware, greetings cards, stationery or homewares and bring an understanding of current market trends.  You must have previous sales experience at National Account level, dealt with national retailers. You may currently be at Head of Sales / Director or General Management level looking for a new opportunity within a large organisation or you could currently be at National Account Controller or Field Sales Management level looking to make the next step. The new recruit must be well balanced, work well under pressure and have the ability to lead and inspire other members of the team whilst having excellent organisation and negotiation skills.

You must be within a commutable distance to South Wales or available to relocate in order to be considered.
