Business Development Manager

An amazing opportunity has arisen for the right person to join an innovative award winning Cake Company, distributing handmade ambient and frozen cakes nationwide to major retailers. Due to our rapid expansion in the UK market, we are now looking for a Business Development Manager to join our vibrant and energetic team at what is going to be a very exciting time in the Company’s development.

We are looking for a self-motivated, ambitious and commercially astute person whose personal drive and commitment to excellence can match our own. This role is ideal for an experienced business development manager or sales executive who has an established track record selling high quality foods (large retailers, distributors, pub chains, hotel & leisure, restaurant chains, catering companies, etc) in the UK.

Main Duties

  • To understand, communicate and promote ProperMaid brand values, products and USP's
  • Responsibility for achieving monthly revenue & profitability targets within specified sectors
  • Development of a strategy and tactical sales plan for the UK as well as the successful execution and implementation of those plans
  • Understanding client needs, developing end-to-end solutions
  • Preparing and delivering targeted sales presentations to clients
  • Negotiating and closing deals
  • Maintaining a deliverable sales pipeline including accurate forecasting and reporting
  • Managing key relationships and increasing product sales/lines within existing contracts
  • Increase profitable growth through new listings, increased and improved distribution links

The successful candidate will:

  • have relevant, demonstrable sales experience in the UK and a proven track record of winning deals with large clients
  • be a creative thinker able to share our vision and passion
  • be expected to be able to hit the ground running, so strong existing relationships within  the relevant sectors will be expected
  • be an articulate communicator able to influence others and develop relationships
     

The role will be based at our Head Office in Huddersfield, but travel throughout the UK will be required and there is the opportunity to work from home on a regular basis.
