The Opportunity

This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a high calibre sales professional to take ownership of all aspects of business development in this fast paced and exciting branded consumer goods business over a period of dynamic growth and change in its wider market.

Through your excellent leadership and influencing skills you will provide both the strategic direction and hands on tactical leadership to the commercial teams and be a key figurehead of the brand to customers.

In addition to identifying and negotiating opportunities for growth you will be focused on building the established customer base, penetrating their portfolio and developing the brand's presence and positioning in the marketplace. The business expects to expand its headcount substantially over the period of your involvement and you will be involved in designing the commercial structure and building a winning team.

This is a pivotal appointment in the development of this highly successful and business, you will report directly to the CEO.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Currently operating at Director level, you’ll have a number of years experience gained in a leadership role in the food, drinks or consumer goods industry, having managed large field based sales teams and national account management structures. Your background will include both blue chip organisations and smaller, preferably family owned/entrepreneurial  structures and you will be able to demonstrate successful ways of working in both.

Of most importance will be your track record in opening up new relationships, successfully negotiating for new listings with the major multiples and driving fast paced growth in distributed channels in a structured, organised and profitable way.

Beyond your core business experience, your management style is charismatic and inspirational, you are able to influence, motivate and generate team working among a group of highly experienced individuals and several new starters.

It is important that you are able to qualify your personal contribution to previous business successes and demonstrate a drive and determination to deliver for our client.

They have received significant investment to support their ambitious growth plans which will involve expanding their relationships with leading grocers, wholesalers and convenience networks.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced interim director which has the potential to turn into a permanent role for the right candidate. There is a highly attractive package available.
