Head of Marketing

Our client is the market and brand leader in both the retail and foodservice market for their product group. They have been consistently successful, developing organically year on year for decades, and their products are consumed in catering outlets and at home by millions.

As a result of continued growth, they are now looking for a Head of Marketing to manage the day to day marketing activities of the organization as well as setting the long term marketing strategy for the business.

The business structure however remains lean and fast so your attitude and approach to work are key. The company and role will not suit an ivory tower marketer; this is somewhere to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in, leading a small team.

Your challenge would be to develop growth - identifying insights and category growth drivers, managing a challenging innovation pipeline, delivering new packaging and product formats and driving brand activation and promotional initiatives in conjunction with the company's major customers and markets. This is a role for a marketer who is passionate about innovation and food; a marketer who understands the importance of authenticity of the brand and product quality to attracting and retaining consumer interest and engagement.

In what is a challenging and unusual role, you will have a track record of driving market beating growth in a branded food environment, with particular strengths in product innovation, above the line advertising and category insight. You will have an excellent understanding of the grocery retail channels and ideally, experience of the wholesale, food service and independent channels.

Our client is a dynamic and successful business and this role will be challenging and demanding as they look to grow further and so will enable the right candidate to develop their marketing and commercial skills.
The successful applicant will report to the General Manager and ideally live within commutable distance of their Leicestershire Head Office.
